Saferoad Group expands its reach in the Netherlands’ light pole industry with acquisition

Saferoad, a leading player in road safety and infrastructure, has announced the acquisition of PMF Stalen Masten (PMF Steel Poles), a prominent Dutch company in the steel pole industry. Specializing in customization, the company adeptly caters to individual design requirements, and its extensive product knowledge has facilitated solid market positioning.

This acquisition will increase Saferoad’s offerings and strengthen its position within the European infrastructure sector.

Kjetil Nesset, SVP for Business Area Infrastructure at Saferoad Group, shared his thoughts on the acquisition: “We view the integration of PMF Stalen Masten as a positive step in our ongoing efforts to support infrastructure improvements across Europe. We highly value their specialized expertise in the pole and mast industry in the Netherlands, which will complement our existing resources. PMF Stalen Masten product groups include light poles and catenary masts, but also poles for traffic and travel information systems, road signing, camera observation systems and overhead contact lines. The company is also specialists in pole and wall brackets, street furniture and specials. A unique production method with advanced machines that heat and reshape tubes through induction allows for various designs, like cylindrical conical, inverse conical, and ribbed shapes. Founded in 1854, the company is located in Burgum and Veendam and employs approximately 70 people.
