WRENCH – TRIANGLE, SQUARE, HALF-MOON AND KAALFIX
The opening and sealing of column hatches requires the use of proper equipment. Since most columns in the Netherlands are supplied with triangle, square, half-moon or Kaalfix locking bolts, PMF has developed a wrench suitable for all of these types of locking bolts. This special wrench is made entirely from stainless steel and is available from stock.

WORKING ON LOCATION
You usually find out that practice and theory are two different things when it is least convenient. PMF also takes problems out of your hands on location, in which we offer the following activities: cutting, shearing, drilling, milling, welding, preserving and more. Throughout our history, numerous road administrators have relied on us for our services, among which:

– shortening portal girders;
– welding foot plates under existing columns;
– constructing additional assembly hatches in vertical members;
– drilling additional holes in the foundation beams of third party structures (see photograph below);
– replacing door seals;
– adapting existing column constructions for the placement of street lighting end-columns;
– adapting structures for the assembly of lightened signposts;
– standby services during complex projects/alterations subject to a deadline;
– et cetera.

CLAMPING STRIPS FOR TRAFFIC CONTROL SYSTEMS
A sound traffic control system requires the use of the most reliable clamps available. PMF has designed three different clamping strips for the Dutch market. The compression spring mechanism ensures rapid assembly, without concessions to quality.

* LM32: clamping strip for traffic lights (suitable for four traffic light categories)
* LM288: clamping strip for push-button columns
* LM306: clamping strip for 1- or 2-light applications

HIGHLY DURABLE GROUND SEGMENT PROTECTION
This is applied if the columns have already been placed and you still want additional protection for the ground segments against wood cutters, salt, urine and moisture. PMF is accustomed to installing ground segment protection on location. The soil surrounding the ground segment of the column is partially removed and the column is given preliminary treatment between 30 cm above and 30 cm below ground level. The glass fibre bandage is then applied and hardens within several hours with the aid of sunlight or UV light. The bandage is then coated in the colour of your choice.

ENGINEERING: PREPARING CONSTRUCTION CALCULATIONS
Advanced software is used to calculate the strength of the column in question. These calculations result in a specification of dimensions and details about the interplay of forces at ground level, all of which are then used to define a foundation.
